Claytor Nature Center

Thursday, July 20...we took two vans to the Claytor Nature Center north of Bedford. Water samples were collected from the "Big?" Otter River, for nitrate, TDS, turbidity, DO and BOD testing back at LC, and pH and temperature were measured on site. Cindy Bohland, from the Governor's School in Roanoke, brought nets, buckets, etc. and helped everyone look at biological parameters (Benthic organisms) following Save Our Streams guidelines. Ticks and poison ivy were in abundance, too.
