Air travel to Virginia Tech is through the Roanoke airport (ROA), which has jet and commuter service by several airlines. Blacksburg is approximately a 45 minute shuttle or car ride from the airport. Driving from the airport, proceed to Interstate 81 via 581 and head south towards Blacksburg/Christiansburg.
From Interstate 81 north or south take the Blacksburg/Christiansburg exit (#118B), and proceed westward approximately 10 miles on U.S. 460 following the signs that point to Virginia Tech. Continue on US 460 until you get to a stoplight at State Road 314 (Southgate Drive). Turn right at this light and proceed to Parking Services, which is a white-framed house on the right side of the road 1/2 mile from the intersection with 460. Staff members of Parking Services will provide you with a parking pass (no charge) and specific directions to Davidson or Hahn Hall.
Finding the Chemistry Department
The Chemistry Department occupies historic Davidson Hall and the Hahn Hall research building. Davidson and Hahn Halls are on the northwest side of the drill field, conveniently located near the duck pond and the golf course.
