1.2.3
You now have an opportunity to build a random copolymer for yourself.  Run several different reactions where the values of rA and rB are nearly equal.  During the course of each reaction, be sure to press the 'Pause' button several times in order to carefully note the statistics about the polymer.

Some things to investigate:
  • Why is the instantaneous percent composition A : B always near 50% : %50?
  • Why do all triads occur with nearly equal frequency at any point during the reaction?
  • What effect does concentration have on polymer structure?  Can it affect the randomness of monomer distribution?
  • How far can rA and rB deviate from 1 before non-random behavior is observed?
