Laboratory Schedule

Chemistry 4124 Laboratory Write-ups

The following forms provide general guidelines/directions for laboratory exercises that will be conducted in the Chemistry 4124 course. Most experiments will last 1-week. Two experiments, however, will require 2 weeks of in-laboratory work, and the student will be required to write a formal laboratory report for these two exercises.

The laboratory handouts are purposefully incomplete as we would like students to make decisions regarding the details of their in-lab work. Prof. Anderson as well as the TA's are available as a resource to the students as they work through the laboratories

Determination of Ca in a groundwater sample by Atomic Emission

Determination of Pb in a Digested Dirt sample by Anodic Stripping Voltammetry

Determination of Pb in a Digested Dirt sample by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (2 week lab)

Determination of the composition of Analgesics by HPLC

Size Exclusiong Chromatography

Determination of Parabens in lotions by HPLC

Fluorescence Spectroscopy of Quinine
