Welcome
Our group has changed directions! Prior to 2005, we did organometallic chemistry and catalyst discovery. For the last few years, we have been carving out a new home for ourselves in the area of fluorinated aromatic polymers, using the fluoroaromatic synthetic chemistry for which our group is primarily known.
Recent News
- January 2008. Prof. Deck attends the ACS Leadership Institute in Dallas on behalf of SERMACS.
- December 2007. Former group member Ben McCauley graduates (BS in Biochemistry). Ben is now with Praxair in Los Angeles.
- November 2007. Former group member Bryte Kelly (BS 2002) earns her PhD at Columbia and accepts a position as Scientific Advisor at Morgan & Finnegan.
- October 2007. Prof. Deck is elected to his second 3-year term as the Secretary of SERMACS, Inc.
- August 2007. Prof. Deck receives NSF grant for a new open-access ESI-TOF mass spectrometer for the Chemistry Department.
- May 2007. Prof. Deck receives the Alan T. Clifford Faculty Service Award in the Department of Chemistry.
