Crystals of a zinc phosphite MOF templated on phenol. A representation of the structure is shown to the right.

Welcome

Our group is exploring metal-organic framework compounds (MOFs) using a phosphate and phosphite hydrothermal synthetic platform to design materials with novel channel and pore structures.

Our work is directed toward potential applications ion exchange, nonlinear optics, and catalysis. We make frequent use of X-ray crystallography to identify and characterize new substances.

A zinc phosphite MOF showing open channel structure. Phenol, not shown, fills the channels.
