My sections of General Chemistry are taught with recitation sections held on Thursday afternoons to supplement the Monday and Wednesday lectures. The 175 students in lectures are divided into groups of 30 for the weekly recitation. A weekly homework assignment is due in recitation; questions concerning homework and the week's lectures are taken, after which the students work cooperatively on worksheets. Undergraduates who are juniors or seniors are hired to facilitate the recitations. Any student desiring information about a paid recitation position should contact me.
